Job summary

Columbus McKinnon in La Vergne, TN, is seeking an assembler to complete assembly, installation and testing of hoists and subassemblies. The role involves following blueprints, mounting components, and test procedures in an environment with moving parts and overhead crane operations.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM with possible overtime during the last week of each month; pay is $23/hr. Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED and be able to read, write, and perform basic

Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

Aligns components, bolts, screws, or rivets them together.
Installs moving parts and tests free movement of assemblies.
Assembles gearboxes and aligns gears to complete the system.
Performs or assists with product testing and load testing.
Operates equipment such as hydraulic presses and uses measurement tools to verify alignment.
Transports parts using overhead crane and builds sub-assemblies into hoists.
Records work orders and performs labor reporting as required.
Packaging and boxing of completed hoists and sub-assemblies.
