Job summary

Summit Polymers in Michigan is seeking an Operator, Assembly to operate molding machines and assemble molded parts under supervision. You will use simple hand tools, monitor quality, and perform basic packing and inspection following standard procedures.

The role emphasizes safety, 5S housekeeping, and accurate documentation. A High School Diploma or GED is required; no travel is anticipated. This is a non-exempt, full-time position reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor (Assembly).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands, and follows Operator Instruction Sheet to determine part number(s), inspection procedures, packing requirements, and any special instruction.
• Retrieves, separates, inspects, counts, weighs, packs, and labels parts in accord with written and/or oral instructions.
• Operates molding machines and/or air activated tools and equipment to assemble, decorate, or produce product.
• Compares, inspects, and monitors production quality to approved samples and accepts, rejects, or questions in accord with established standards.
• Performs routine cleaning chores to maintain cleanliness of work station and area per 5S requirements.
