Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Screed Operator for our Asphalt division in the United States. You will set up and operate asphalt screeds to achieve precise grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway and commercial projects.

Coordinate with the paving crew, monitor flow and temperature, and perform routine equipment checks to ensure quality and safety. The role requires a high school diploma and 2–3 years of hands-on experience with screeds, plus willingness to travel daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience operating asphalt screeds on commercial or highway paving projects.
• Daily travel with reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, profiles, and grade markings.
• Knowledge of asphalt flow, temperature, and placement for quality results.
• Experience coordinating with paver, roller, and lute operators.
• Maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive care for screed equipment.
• Commitment to safety, traffic control, and highway paving protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate asphalt screeds to achieve proper grade, slope, and mat thickness on highway paving projects.
• Read and interpret project plans, profiles, and layout markings for precise paving results.
• Monitor asphalt flow, temperature, and material distribution for consistent quality.
• Coordinate with paver, roller, and lute operators to maintain smooth workflow.
• Identify and correct surface irregularities such as bumps or low spots.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor troubleshooting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with highway safety regulations and job site protocols.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and support the paving crew.
