Amrize is seeking a Screed Operator to manage the screed at the rear of the paving machine, ensuring precise depth and width of asphalt as it is laid. The role demands alertness to specifications and steady hands for accurate compaction.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and at least two years on an asphalt crew, with strong physical fitness and a collaborative mindset to support a safe, efficient paving operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years related experience on an asphalt crew preferred.
• Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set the depth and width of asphalt as laid by the paving machine.
• Shovel asphalt into areas the machine cannot reach.
• Provide excellent internal customer service and meet service expectations.
• Follow safety, compliance and environmental requirements.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

About The Role

The Screed Operator is responsible for the operation of the screed, which is on the rear of the paving machine. The operator is responsible for setting the depth and width of the asphalt as it is laid by the paving machine.

What You'll Accomplish

• Has responsibility for setting the depth and width of the asphalt. It is a critical part of the road building process, as the depth must be exact to the specifications.
• Shovels asphalt into holes in the surface and/or areas where the paving machine cannot access.
• Provides excellent internal customer service. Exceeds internal customers’ expectations of services.
• Follows all safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards.
• Performs related work as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Requirement Experience: Two years related experience on an asphalt crew
• Additional Requirements:
• Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and an ability to work as a member of a team.

Additional Requirements

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
