Job summary

Amrize, a leading construction materials supplier in the United States, has immediate openings for a Screed Operator in our Asphalt division. You will set up and operate the screed to achieve precise grades and mat thickness on highway projects, coordinating with the paving crew to ensure a smooth asphalt surface.

The role requires 2–3 years of hands-on screed experience, a high school diploma, and travel to daily projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2–3 years operating asphalt screeds on highway projects.
• Ability to read plans and interpret grade profiles.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate asphalt screeds to achieve correct grade and mat thickness.
• Read project plans and layout markings for precise paving.
• Monitor asphalt flow and temperature for consistent surface quality.
• Coordinate with paver, roller, and lute operators to maintain workflow.
• Identify and correct surface irregularities and poor compaction.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Adhere to highway safety, traffic control, and job protocols.
• Maintain clean work area and support crew.
