Job summary

Systematic Business Consulting is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer for our United States-based team. This hands-on role focuses on analysis and design of specialized precast and post-tensioned concrete structures, supporting water, wastewater, and industrial infrastructure projects.

You will lead technical work across design, production, and field teams, review calculations and drawings, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with outside resources.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required, structural focus preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in precast/prestressed concrete.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with precast concrete and post-tensioned systems.
• Strong understanding of design-to-production workflows and constructability.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers and drafters.
• Specialized precast concrete experience in water, wastewater, industrial projects is a plus.

A growing design-build manufacturer serving specialized water, wastewater, renewable energy, and industrial infrastructure projects is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its team.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the analysis and design of specialized precast and post-tensioned concrete structures. The ideal candidate brings strong structural engineering fundamentals, experience in the precast/prestressed concrete industry, and the ability to lead technical work while collaborating across engineering, project management, production, and field teams.

Job Description

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for structural analysis, design, and technical oversight of specialized precast concrete structures used in complex infrastructure applications.

• Perform structural analysis and design of precast and post-tensioned concrete structures in accordance with ACI, PCI, and applicable codes.
• Review and oversee engineering, erection, and production drawings for accuracy and constructability.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Production, and Field teams to support successful project execution.
• Assign, review, and provide technical guidance on work performed by Design Engineers and drafters.
• Review calculations, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, design practices, and workflows.
• Coordinate with outside engineering resources when needed.
• Provide technical support for field issues, including occasional job-site travel for inspections or troubleshooting.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and supporting documentation for internal and client use.

Job Requirements

This position requires a Structural Engineer with specific precast concrete industry experience.

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required, preferably with a Structural Engineering focus. Equivalent strong concrete design experience may also be considered.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in the precast/prestressed concrete industry, with hands-on experience performing structural analysis and design.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required — any state is acceptable, with the ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and concrete design.
• Precast concrete and/or prestressed/post-tensioned concrete experience required.
• Ability to interpret contract drawings, specifications, and related technical documents.
• Understanding of design-to-production workflows and constructability considerations.
• Ability to review engineering calculations and drawings with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or reviewing the work of engineers and/or drafters is a plus.
• Specialized experience with water, wastewater, industrial, or other engineered precast concrete applications is a plus.
