Job summary

County Prestress in Westmont, IL is seeking an experienced Estimator to develop cost estimates for concrete construction projects. You will analyze plans, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare proposals, and submit bids in collaboration with project teams.

A 4-year degree in engineering or related field and 2–3 years of concrete estimating experience are preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering/construction management or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in commercial concrete estimating or related role.
• Experience in precast/prestress preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/structural drawings.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans and specs to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs for concrete materials and labor.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates based on company standards.
• Write job-specific proposals and qualifications for bids.
• Solicit bids from suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Develop updated costs for current jobs under contract.
