Job summary

Qualifications

We’re hiring an Estimator to join County Prestress in Westmont, IL.

Job Summary:

The Estimator will be responsible for estimating duties, which include recording precast concrete material types and quantities, preparing accurate cost estimates based upon company standards and guidelines, writing proposals and qualifications that are job-specific, and submitting cost estimates for bidding while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed andaccuratecost estimates for concrete construction projectsand/orservices.
• Maintain files and communication with stakeholders, teams, and customers.
• Perform quantity take-offs for concrete materials and labor, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for in the estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and accuracy of estimates.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to align estimates with project goals and budgets. Maintain changes to original requestsinatimelyandefficient manner.
• Recommend ways to make a product morecost-effectiveor profitable.
• Develop updated costs for current jobs under contract.
• Identifyvalue engineering opportunities and suggest cost-effective alternatives to enhance project efficiency.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 4-year college degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum of 2-3years’ experiencein commercial concrete estimating orarelated role in heavy industrialmanufacturing. Preferredproject and industry-relatedexperienceinprecastandprestress.
