Job summary

County Materials Family of Companies seeks an Estimator to join County Prestress in Westmont, IL. You will estimate concrete material types and quantities, prepare cost estimates per guidelines, write proposals, and submit bids while collaborating with stakeholders to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, bid evaluation, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to align estimates with budgets.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in commercial concrete estimating or related role in heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Preferred experience in precast and prestress.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and costs.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with all levels of the business.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and internet-based applications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain changes to original requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Recommend cost-saving or profitable improvements.
  • Develop updated costs for current jobs under contract.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and suggest cost-effective alternatives.

Job description

We're hiring an Estimator to join County Prestress in Westmont, IL.

Job Summary:

The Estimator will be responsible for estimating duties, which include recording precast concrete material types and quantities, preparing accurate cost estimates based upon company standards and guidelines, writing proposals and qualifications that are job-specific, and submitting cost estimates for bidding while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Experience & Qualifications:
