Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a Preadmission Testing (PAT) Registered Nurse to ensure patients are fully prepared for their upcoming outpatient surgical procedures. The PAT RN conducts comprehensive preoperative phone assessments, verifies medical records, ensures required clearances and forms are obtained, reviews preoperative instructions, and answers patient questions to prevent delays.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, supporting nine Surgical

Qualifications

• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN preferred noted in job specs.
• Active RN license with multi-state or single-state privileges.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures accurate EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet care needs.
