Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist I - Pre Visit for an evening shift. This role pre-registers and pre-collects for scheduled services, communicates potential financial responsibility, and assists with Medicaid applications and financial assistance as needed.

The team collaborates with Patient Advocates and Patient Access to ensure accurate billing, timely pre-collections, and a positive first experience for patients across our facilities.

Qualifications

• Detailed working knowledge of at least one payer application billing and/or collection process.
• Basic working knowledge of UB04 and EOB.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding.
• Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient in hospital registration and/or billing systems and Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers and pre-collects for services designated CFC responsibility.
• Maintains a professional and courteous behavior to ensure a positive image within the community served and to promote customer satisfaction.
