Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company in Snowshoe, WV seeks an energetic supervisor for the Pre-Ski School program for ages 2–4. You’ll oversee daily operations, manage staff schedules, and provide training to create a safe, engaging experience for our youngest guests.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, staff supervision, guest service, record-keeping, and maintaining a clean, safe facility. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with at least 18 months in a related field and supervisory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 18 months of experience in a related field and 1 year in a supervisory role is preferred.
• Willing and able to learn to ski.
• Knowledge of safety practices; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Outdoor experience is a plus.
• May require lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement lesson plans for young children.
• Schedule, train, and manage staff to ensure coverage.
• Handle guest complaints and ensure a positive experience for families.
• Oversee registrations, check-ins, and check-outs; maintain incident records.
• Keep the pre-Ski School clean, safe, and well-maintained; submit safety reports.
• Monitor expenses related to programming and assist with daily operations.
• Coordinate lunch and snack supplies for the program.
• Lead staff meetings and recognize performance; assist with other duties as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Program Development: Create and implement lesson plans tailored for young children.
• Staff Supervision: Schedule, train, and manage staff to ensure high professionalism and adequate coverage.
• Guest Service: Handle guest complaints, ensuring a positive experience for both children and parents.
• Record Keeping: Oversee paperwork for registration, check-in, and check-out; maintain detailed incident records.
• Facility Maintenance: Ensure the pre-ski school is clean, safe, and well-maintained; submit bi-weekly safety reports.
• Financial Performance: Monitor and control expenses related to programming.
• Food & Beverage Coordination: Order, serve, and manage lunch and snack supplies.
• Daily Operations: Assist with bathroom breaks, minor accidents, and clothing adjustments; organize activities and ensure children are ready for outdoor fun.
• Team Support: Hold staff meetings, recognize performance, and assist with other duties as needed.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Experience:

• At least 18 Months Experience in a related field and at least 1 year experience working in a supervisory capacity
• Must be willing & able to learn to ski
• Knowledge of safety practices, CPR/first aid certification preferred
• Previous outdoor experience is a plus
• May require lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
