Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to support pre‑sales for RADAN CAD/CAM software in sheet metal manufacturing. This is an onsite role based in Elgin, IL.

You will demonstrate capabilities, assess customer requirements, and help translate them into effective solutions. You will partner with sales, application engineers, and customers to deliver demonstrations, evaluations, and training, with travel up to 25‑50% as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in sheet metal fabrication or related technical field.
• Knowledge of laser cutting, punching, nesting, or CNC programming.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software or CNC programming systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales to provide technical expertise throughout the pre-sales process.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and software evaluations highlighting RADAN capabilities.
• Work directly with customers to understand their fabrication processes and requirements.
• Demonstrate CAD/CAM workflows for sheet metal design, nesting, CNC programming, and manufacturing optimization.
• Recommend software solutions to improve material utilization and reduce programming time.
• Support proof-of-concept activities and technical evaluations to demonstrate software functionality.
• Provide technical input for customer proposals and information requests.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales to address customer questions.
• Assist with demonstrations involving laser cutting, punching, plasma cutting, and press brakes.
• Deliver product training and technical guidance to customers for successful software adoption.
• Maintain knowledge of RADAN and competitors and industry developments.
• Support customer events, trade shows, and technical workshops.
• Document customer requirements and evaluations to support the sales process.
• Travel up to 25-50% for demos, onsite evaluations, and events.
