Job summary

Impact is seeking a Pre‑Sales Engineer to partner with Solutions Architects, Sales, and Security Consultants to translate client needs into practical IT solutions. You will assess infrastructure, cloud, and security, develop proposals, and support a smooth handoff to implementation.

You will design solutions using Windows Server, Azure, and Microsoft 365 while communicating clearly to both technical and business stakeholders. A strong, consultative approach is required.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in IT infrastructure, networking, systems engineering, or related field.
• Client-facing or pre-sales experience required; ability to explain complex concepts to varied audiences.
• Proven ability to develop technical proposals, diagrams, quotes, and statements of work.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Business Transformation Assessments to evaluate client environments and identify risks.
• Develop technical recommendations across Windows Server, virtualization, storage, networking, firewalls, identity management, and Azure.
• Design managed IT solutions using Impact-approved technologies aligned with client needs.
• Create accurate proposals, diagrams, quotes, and cost estimates with clear scope and dependencies.
• Present findings and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating value for business leaders.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Architects, and delivery teams to ensure cohesive solution development.
• Maintain assessment documentation and time entries; improve pre-sales tools and processes.
• Coordinate handoff to implementation and post-sales support with proper context.
• Stay current on technologies and best practices through training and certifications.
