The Design Engineer translates client needs into detailed system designs and documentation, working closely with Account Managers to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong problem-solving and risk assessment abilities.
• Customer-focused with solutions that exceed expectations.
• Effective communication with clients, PMs and field teams.
• Detail-oriented with emphasis on accuracy.
• Experience in cross-functional teams including sales and vendors.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-directed learning to stay current with AV tech.
• Proficiency in AV system design and configuration.
• Understanding of IP/networking and AV/IT standards.
• Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Bluebeam).
• Two or more AV certifications.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Sales Design and Proposal efforts with account managers.
• Translate client requirements into functional system designs.
• Explain design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide labor estimates and material requirements for proposals.
• Develop design standards packages for large, repeat accounts.
• Create detailed system documentation: BOM, diagrams, scopes.
• Coordinate with vendors, architects, consultants and contractors.
• Support project teams during implementation as the design authority.
