Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Companies Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer in Mediapolis, IA. You will translate customer requirements into fully specified plant layouts and equipment configurations, from initial concept through to quotation and post-sale revisions.

The role requires AutoCAD proficiency, engineering drawings interpretation, and cost estimation skills, with travel to site locations as needed. A relevant engineering degree with 1–7 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 1-2 years of experience, or Bachelor's in Business/Technology with 3-5 years, or an Associate's with 5-7 years.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with cost estimation or technical quoting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and specify equipment to solve client needs, in collaboration with Engineering teams.
• Own plant layout from concept to post-sale revisions; produce detailed AutoCAD drawings.
• Prepare quotations with estimated equipment costs and margin analysis; ensure quotation accuracy.
• Travel to site locations as needed to gather information and support customers.
