Job summary

Barry‑Wehmiller is seeking an Application Engineer – Automation & Integration for BW Packaging Facility. You will translate customer requirements into executable system concepts and layouts, enabling accurate estimates and reliable execution.

Role requires 5–8 years in engineering, strong packaging/automation knowledge, AutoCAD experience, and travel up to 30% (domestic & international). Reports to Team Lead, Application Engineering. BW emphasizes people‑centric leadership and customer success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5 - 8 years of industry experience.
• Strong understanding of packaging systems, automation, and integrated solutions.
• Experience developing system concepts and layouts for capital equipment or automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical foundation for automation and integration opportunities across BW Packaging.
• Translate customer requirements into executable system concepts and layouts.
• Lead technical discussions with internal teams and customers to define scope and constraints.
• Create and maintain layout drawings reflecting proposed configurations.
• Develop and validate controls-related estimating inputs and pricing with Global Supply Chain.
