Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller's Afinitas unit is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge customers, the external sales team, and the engineering department. You will translate complex requirements into fully specified, costed plant layouts and equipment configurations, owning the full pre-sale process from concept to quotation and margins.

You will produce detailed AutoCAD layouts, support standardization with Product Line Leaders, and prepare quotes with cost estimates and margin analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with experience as specified (1–2 yrs for Eng, 3–5 yrs for Bus/Tech, or 5–7 yrs for Associate).
• Proven ability to learn and apply technical knowledge related to products and processes.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and interpret layouts.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into fully specified plant layouts and equipment configurations.
• Create detailed drawings in AutoCAD showing equipment and process flows.
• Prepare quotations with estimated equipment costs and margin analysis.
• Provide technical support to outside sales and customers pre-sale.
• Travel to site locations to gather information and verify requirements.
