Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Companies Inc. is seeking a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer to join our Design Group, focusing on full plumbing systems for large manufacturing facilities in food, beverage, life sciences and high-tech sectors.

You’ll lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative and compliant designs using Revit and AutoCAD, with on-site supervision and 10–20% travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
ASPE CPD certification active; PE license preferred.
12+ years of mechanical engineering experience with plumbing design.
Experience with industrial facilities (food, beverage, life sciences) and GMP/cGMP a plus.
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes (UPC/IPC) and domestic water systems.
Ability to travel 10–20%.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering projects focusing on plumbing design for large facilities.
Design and specify plumbing systems for domestic water, sanitary, vent, and more.
Supervise on-site construction and installation of industrial plumbing systems.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams.
Apply Revit and AutoCAD; coordinate with vendors and clients.
