Mercy Medical Center is seeking a part-time registered nurse to provide individualized nursing care. The role involves coordinating care across admission, transfer, and discharge, with rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

The nurse will adhere to Nurse Practice Act, center policies, and professional standards while maintaining patient autonomy and safety in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support certification within six weeks of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsabilités

• Administers nursing care to patients; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation with physician involvement.
• Provides nursing care guided by physician orders, unit protocols and professional judgment.
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, patients, families and other healthcare team members.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities related to clinical knowledge and professional issues.
• Contributes to professional development of peers by sharing knowledge and skills.
• Delivers care preserving patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
• Considers safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering care.
• Provides patient/family education and counseling for health problems.
• Utilizes hospital information system to process orders and retrieve patient data.
• Maintains documentation knowledge essential for patient records.
• Works independently with limited supervision under Nurse Practice Act and policies.
