Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking an RN in Pre Admit Testing to support preoperative evaluation and patient education. You will assess patients before surgery, manage IV therapy and preoperative medications, and ensure accurate surgical site verification.

You will work with surgeons, nurses, and support staff to optimize patient safety and outcomes. The role requires a Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least one year of acute care Med/Surg/Tele RN experience; procedural/surgical RN

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current State of Florida Registered RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification.
• Minimum of one year acute care hospital Med/Surg/Tele RN experience.
• Procedural/Surgical RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in briefing, time out, debriefing and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies with high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to improve patient care and surgical workflow.
