Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in personal injury case management with supervisory responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience in personal injury case management considered in lieu of a degree.
• Familiarity with case management software and adherence to SOPs is expected.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of case managers and assistants handling pre-litigation cases from intake through settlement.
• Monitor caseloads, aging, and file quality to identify bottlenecks and keep cases moving.
• Set performance expectations and conduct regular one-on-ones, coaching, and reviews.
• Own and enforce standard operating procedures for treatment monitoring, demand packages, lien resolution, and settlement handoff.
• Track KPIs and report team performance to firm leadership.
• Audit case files using Filevine and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
• Handle escalations from clients, providers, and internal teams promptly and professionally.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training for new pre-litigation staff.
• Identify and roll out process improvements as team and caseload grow.

About the Role

The Pre-Litigation Team Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of our pre-litigation case teams — case managers and case manager assistants — ensuring cases move efficiently through treatment, demand preparation, and settlement. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who understands both the people side of management and the operational rigor required to run a high‑volume pre‑litigation caseload.

What You'll Do

• Manage and develop a team of case managers and case manager assistants handling pre-litigation personal injury cases from intake through settlement
• Monitor caseloads, case aging, and file quality to identify bottlenecks and keep cases moving toward timely
• Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular one-on-ones, coaching, and formal performance reviews
• Own and enforce standard operating procedures for treatment monitoring, demand packages, lien resolution, and settlement handoff
• Track team KPIs and report on team performance to firm leadership
• Use Filevine to audit case files, monitor task completion, and ensure documentation is accurate and audit-ready
• Handle escalations — client concerns, medical provider issues, and internal roadblocks — quickly and professionally
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training for new pre-litigation staff
• Help identify and roll out process improvements as the team and caseload grow

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in personal injury case management, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role
• Strong working knowledge of the pre-litigation lifecycle: treatment, demand, negotiation, and disbursement
• Experience with Filevine or comparable case management software strongly preferred
• Proven ability to manage, coach, and hold a team accountable to performance standards
• Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing a high-volume, deadline-driven caseload
• Clear, direct communication style — with clients, attorneys, and your team
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience in personal injury case management will be considered in lieu of a degree
