Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks several Pre-K Special Ed Educational Technicians to support early childhood classrooms across multiple elementary schools, including Presumpscot, Rowe, Talbot, and Longfellow. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position for the school year.

Candidates will assist teachers with curriculum delivery, classroom management, and strategies aligned to Maine Early Learning Development Standards.

Qualifications

• Requires Maine State Educational Technician III (023) authorization.
• Maine CHRC authorization is required or can be obtained.
• Possession of or ability to attain ESSA authorization within the first year.
• Level 4 status on the Maine Roads to Quality Registry within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated classroom support to Pre-K programs at multiple elementary schools.
• Assist the Pre-K teacher with curriculum implementation and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Support families and engage with diverse student populations and English language learners.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as required.
