Job summary

Cherokee Elementary School seeks a Childcare Assistant to support Pre-K/Preschool classrooms and the Childcare Specialist for before/after school programs. You will help with daily classroom operations, supervise Kids Club activities, and ensure compliance with health and safety rules.

The role requires interaction with students and staff, managing supplies, and maintaining site records. Training hours must be completed annually and CPR/First Aid credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety and health regulations in child care settings.
• Experience assisting Pre-K/Preschool classroom operations.
• Ability to plan activities and supervise staff and children.
• Maintain records and order supplies for the program.
• Licensing and credential requirements per AZ rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operation of the classroom.
• Supervise staff and children for Kids Club and Early Bird.
• Maintain compliance with Health Services regulations.
• Establish rapport with students, employees, and the community.
• Handle supply orders and inventory for the site.
• Complete required training hours annually.
