Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA seeks an After School Program Assistant to support students, staff and visitors in a safe, courteous and orderly environment. The position is paid hourly and reports to the After School Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities include supervising students, assisting with activities, maintaining attendance and records, and following safety procedures during daily activities and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of any GED Testing Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with roll call to ensure accountability for all students
• Assists in planning and implementing student activities for assigned classes
• Assists in maintaining proper records ? Assists in the distribution of snacks
• Actively supervises students during daily activities
• Maintains expectations for students’ behavior and safety and informs Assistant Coordinator of difficulties requiring disciplinary action
• Attends and participates in After School Program staff meetings and required training sessions
• Maintains a good attendance record and makes Assistant Coordinator aware when needing to be absent
• Follows appropriate procedures for emergencies such as student or staff health concerns, severe weather, suspected fire or facility issues
• Ensures adherence to good safety procedures
• Follows federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies
• Performs other duties as assigned
