Job summary

The Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Childcare Assistant to support Pre-K and after-school programs at its Scottsdale sites. You will help the classroom teacher with daily operations and supervise Kids Club activities to ensure a safe, engaging environment.

Responsibilities include planning activities, maintaining supplies and records, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Relevant education and licensing are required, with on-site duties and a role in fostering

Qualifications

Must meet staff qualifications to be a Facility Director's designee.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
Provide documentation of one of the following: High school diploma or GED; 12 months of qualifying child care experience and 3 credit hours in early childhood; or 30 actual training hours in early childhood.

Responsibilities

Assist Pre-K/Preschool teacher with daily operation of the classroom.
Assist with on-site operations including planning activities and supervising Kids Club or Early Bird staff and children.
Maintain compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services rules and regulations.
Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and the community.
Keep the classroom teacher, Childcare Specialist and Child Care Coordinator informed of staff and student activities.
Order necessary supplies and maintain site inventory.
Maintain acceptable behavior standards per district policies.
Cultivate supportive relationships with host school staff.
Assist with site record keeping.
Complete at least 18 verifiable training hours per AZ DHS regulations annually.
Other duties as assigned.
