Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDA credential or 9 hours of approved Child Development coursework required.
• Minimum of 48 semester hours or WorkKeys test required.
• Must meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.

Responsibilities

• Assists preschool teacher in preparing lesson plans and supporting instructional activities.
• Assists with student assessments as assigned.
• Works with individuals and groups of students and helps manage classroom behavior.
• Assists with non-instructional duties such as snacks, lunch, and personal hygiene needs of students as directed.
• Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates initiative for improvements within responsibilities.
• Participates in required trainings, including Alabama Early Childhood Education Conference hours.

Education
