Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Pre-K Lead Teacher to deliver age-appropriate instruction for four-year-olds within our Early Learning program. You will plan, implement, and assess activities that prepare children for kindergarten.

Under the Center Manager, you will ensure developmentally appropriate practices, follow GELDS and Bright from the Start guidelines, and maintain accurate records. GA credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field is required.
• Knowledge of project-based curriculum such as Creative Curriculum is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Credentials must be verified in GA PDS prior to hire; transcript and proof of credentials are required.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements (kneel, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs).
• GA teaching certification (T4/T5) in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction to Pre-kindergarten children aligned with GELDS standards.
• Create developmentally appropriate activities and maintain an engaging learning environment.
• Register attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Follow Bright from the Start operating guidelines and participate in required trainings.
• Assess children’s development and document milestones; refer concerns per guidelines.
• Collaborate with team and communicate with families to support child learning.
