Job summary

Wake County Public School System is hiring an Instructional Assistant-Pre-K Blended to support both General and Special Education settings. The role involves assisting teachers, preparing materials, and supervising students to ensure a safe, engaging classroom environment.

The position requires a high school diploma, progressing toward an Associate’s degree in early childhood education, and CPI certification. Workweek is Monday through Friday with occasional evenings/weekends at school sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and progress toward an Associate’s degree in birth-through-kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or related field.
• CDA credential acceptable; six documented semester hours per year toward an associate degree.
• For Title I schools, ESSA requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructional activities and maintain a safe, caring classroom environment.
• Support teachers with planning, organizing, and materials preparation.
• Work with individual students or groups across Pre-K classrooms.
• Participate in district staff development and ongoing professional growth.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper records.
