Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in San Leandro, CA is seeking a Training Specialist/Trainer to drive departmental training programs, ensure part quality, and uphold process integrity.

You will conduct group and personalized courses, update tech cards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires coordinating with Production Supervisors, Engineers, and Quality to verify instructions and drive standardized training across shifts.

Qualifications

• At least operator level 2 in all/most processes in department (e.g. Finish; welding, blending, etc.)
• Proficiency in basic to intermediate computer use
• Minimum intermediate level of experience/expertise in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to be consistent in message, with part quality and process integrity as top priority
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and others
• Exercises a high degree of care in the handling of parts to avoid damage

Responsibilities

• Partner with department leadership in training new employees to ensure they receive adequate and standard training to fulfill their job duties
• Assist in administering qualification/certification tests for department employees such as but not limited to, for example in Finish, welding and straightening
• Create and update tech cards for the department that assist with and reinforce training conducted
• Validate that the content of the work instructions can be and is performed as written
• Request traveler changes as necessary to make certain travelers match up with actual work performed and meet all applicable customer requirements
• Validate any work instructions given to the department are accurate, complete, and follow all PCC San Leandro documentation and work instruction standards
• Participate in corrective actions to determine permanent, systemic solutions
• Participate in auditor training and become certified internal auditor
• Communicates issues effectively and in a timely manner with Production Supervisor, Product Development Engineers, and Quality group
• Continuously assess internal procedures relating to the department for accuracy and follow up with training if department employees are not meeting the requirements
