Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Training Specialist to ensure all technical training needs of the department are met and to emphasize part quality and process integrity. The Trainer will conduct courses, evaluate performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role requires independent troubleshooting, updating training materials, and collaborating with engineers and quality teams to uphold PCC standards on the San Leandro site.

Qualifications

• At least operator level 2 in all/most processes in department (e.g. Finish; welding; blending).
• Proficiency in basic to intermediate computer use.
• Medium to high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and others.
• Maintain strong focus on part quality and process integrity.

Responsibilities

• Uphold regulations, policies and safety rules on the floor.
• Train new employees to ensure standard training and job duties.
• Administer qualification/certification tests for department staff.
• Create and update technical cards to support training.
• Validate that work instructions reflect actual procedures.
• Coordinate traveler changes to align with work performed and customer requirements.
• Ensure work instructions are accurate and compliant with PCC San Leandro standards.
• Participate in corrective actions to implement permanent solutions.
• Assist auditor training and pursue internal auditor certification.
• Communicate issues promptly with Production Supervisor, engineers and QA.
• Continuously evaluate procedures and provide retraining as needed.
