Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Proficient knowledge in medical terminology.
• Above average spelling and typing skills.
• Proficient computer software (Online insurance websites and DASH) and database skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Experience collaborating across multiple functions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand English.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, change, and update patient appointments.
• Interview patients for demographic information and evaluate eligibility.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles and verify insurance eligibility.
• Contact insurance carriers to verify coverage and requirements.
• Obtain pre-authorization from insurers within the required time.
• Process insurance authorizations and update patient records.
• Document communications with providers and personnel accurately.
• Educate patients on preauthorization process and coverage information.
• Use scheduling/EMR software to communicate patient needs.
