The role schedules procedures, verifies eligibility and insurance limits, and collects necessary demographic and billing information, contributing to efficient care delivery and positive patient experiences.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of clerical experience.
• Strong critical thinking, judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Aufgaben

• Serves as a resource and liaison between patient/family, referral source, clinics, and physicians.
• Selects correct patient to ensure medical record accuracy and prevent duplicates.
• Pre-registers all patient types, collecting and processing demographic and billing information.
• Schedules procedures for all ancillary departments and explains requirements for each procedure.
• Determines patient eligibility, coverage and insurance limitations.
• Requests results of previous pertinent studies from other facilities.
