Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Pre-Arrival Coordinator to act as a liaison among patients, families, referral sources, clinics and physicians. The role involves pre-registering patients, collecting demographic and billing information, and ensuring records accuracy to support efficient care.

The position schedules procedures for ancillary departments, explains procedures to patients, and verifies insurance eligibility and coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• 1 year clerical experience minimum.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment with decisive action.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between patient/family, referral source, clinics and physicians.
• Pre-registers patient types, collecting and distributing demographics and billing information.
• Schedules procedures for all ancillary departments, explains procedures and requirements.
• Determines patient eligibility, coverage and insurance limitations.
• Requests results of previous pertinent studies from other facilities.
