Job summary

CarePlus New Jersey is seeking a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) practitioner to deliver the curriculum to parents and caregivers of children aged 0-12 in home or community settings. You will build practical parenting skills, enhance social connections, and support child safety and development.

You will manage up to 8 families, run group sessions, and coordinate with care managers to connect families with needed resources, while promoting Triple P services across the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent experience within the child welfare system.
• 1+ years of experience working with families experiencing trauma, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, or child abuse/neglect.
• Valid driver's license and insurable under the agency's automobile policy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Triple P curriculum to parents and caregivers of children aged 0-12 in home or community settings.
• Maintain a caseload of up to 8 families and facilitate group sessions as needed.
• Schedule and complete weekly sessions flexibly to accommodate family availability.
• Collaborate with families to establish therapeutic rapport and coordinate community resources.
• Promote Triple P services within the community and with parenting/early childhood organizations.
• Conduct initial needs assessments and safety evaluations; create Family Services Plans.
• Work with care managers to ensure successful linkages to needed resources.

Job Summary:

As a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) practitioner, you will deliver the Triple P curriculum to parents and caregivers of children and youth aged 0-12 in their home or the community. In the Triple P educational sessions, you will provide parents and caregivers with practical parenting skills and strategies, enabling them to enhance social connections, emotional competency, and increase knowledge of child safety and development.

What Will You Do:

• Maintain a caseload of up to 8 families receiving Triple P Standard
• Facilitate group sessions serving 8-12 parents per group 3 times per year
• Schedule and complete all weekly sessions needed in a flexible manner, prioritizing family availability
• Collaborate with families while engaging them in the Triple P approach, establishing a therapeutic rapport with all participants
• Establish an appropriate milieu of safe communication in a group settings.
• Work with Care managers to connect families to needed resources in the community and provide coordination support to ensure successful linkages.
• Promote Triple P services in the community, particularly among parenting and early childhood organizations.
• Conduction initial Needs Assessments and Safety Evaluations for parents and caregivers upon entry to program.
• Create Family Services Plans to help guide parents and caregivers' services to encourage goal planning.

What We Need to See:

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent experience within the child welfare system and 1+ years of experience working with families experiencing trauma, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, and child abuse and/or neglect
• OR GED or High School Diploma and demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing direct care to minors and/or related lived experience with the child welfare system.
• Valid driver's license and must be insurable under the agency's automobile insurance policy.
