Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a Practice Medical Receptionist for the OB/GYN Center in Cambridge. You will be the first point of contact for patients, delivering friendly, efficient service and coordinating appointments and documentation.

This full-time day shift role involves scheduling via Epic, verifying insurance with PASSPORT, managing records, handling payments, and supporting clinicians on a planned care team. Bilingual skills and attention to detail are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in an outpatient medical setting preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
  • Experience with medical records and billing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle calls courteously and professionally.
  • Register patients and schedule appointments via Epic.

  • Maintain paper and electronic medical records.

Position Overview

The Practice Medical Receptionist on the OB/GYN team performs a wide range of administrative and support functions for the department. They serve as a primary point of contact for patients and provide excellent customer service through clear communication.

Responsibilities
  • Handling all calls appropriately and courteously
  • Registering patients and scheduling appointments via Epic
  • Verifying insurance eligibility using PASSPORT
  • Maintaining and supporting both paper and electronic medical records
  • Collecting, processing, and reconciling co-pays to be deposited
  • Providing financial support by processing charges, reconciling daily receipts, and identifying and correcting errors in billing
  • Assisting direct patient care providers with electronic and paper correspondence
  • Participating on a planned care team and attending departmental meetings
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of experience working in an outpatient medical setting preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole preferred
  • Experience working on a Planned Care Team preferred
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
