Job summary

UPMC is seeking a full-time Practice Manager to support the UPMC Primary Care team in Gettysburg. The role oversees daily operations across physician offices, including scheduling, staffing, and compliance, with travel up to 25% regionally.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s or higher in a related field with several years of management and healthcare experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of management experience with at least 1 year healthcare experience.
• Or an Associate’s degree plus 3 years of management and 3 years of healthcare experience.
• Or a high school diploma with 5 years of management and 5 years of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations at physician offices and clinic sites and coordinates work activities.
• Manages schedules and call-offs.
• Ensures office space, supplies, equipment, and assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care.
• Manages all functions of the financial and patient management system at physician offices.
• Ensures compliance with all system-wide/departmental policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality and regulatory requirements (OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Integration of new physicians into CMI practices.
• Monitor and meet practice benchmarks including point of service and scheduling for timely patient access.
• Works with senior management to prepare budgets and align operations with objectives and budgets.
• Develop and maintain a patient-centric culture focused on patient arrival and follow-up under consumerism initiatives.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises assigned personnel in satellite facilities and handles performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Identifies and resolves work problems to ensure quality patient service.
• Communicates updates on operations with senior management and physicians.
