VCA Inc. is seeking a skilled Practice Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at the veterinary hospital. You will ensure that the medical team can provide the highest quality care while managing staff development and operational efficiency.
In this role, you will collaborate with a skilled team to create a positive environment for both clients and staff, focusing on excellence in pet health care. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience.
In partnership with the chief of staff, the Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital, managing day‑to‑day operations so the medical team can devote their time to delivering the highest quality veterinary care. Your medical practice management skills will be put to use to drive business results, and your people leadership skills will come into play as you develop associates and foster an engaging team environment. Along with a team of knowledgeable pet health care experts, you’ll ensure that clients and patients have a positive experience when they visit the hospital. Working closely with the veterinary medical team, field leadership, corporate headquarters and, where applicable, PetSmart® associates, you’ll help optimize the growth of both businesses and support the hospital’s mission of excellence.
• Interview, hire and develop associates.• Evaluate hospital processes, progress and productivity.• Budget and plan for the hospital’s operations.• Support daily operations and staff, including scheduling, coordinating time off and managing continuing education needs.• Train associates on Banfield guidelines and practices, including client education about Optimum Wellness Plans®, preventive care and hospital services.• Educate associates on Banfield guidelines and practices.• Build and maintain a positive, collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and patient care excellence.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.• Three years of related experience in health care, veterinary profession, or service industry, including direct supervisory experience (hiring, associate development, etc.).• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to solve problems, manage conflict, lead teams and use analytical approaches to decision making.
