Job summary

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a national law firm with over 500 attorneys, seeks a Practice Group Business Manager to partner with Practice Group Leaders and Senior Directors to optimize operations and profitability. The role drives strategic planning, budgeting and efficiency across practice groups while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

You will lead staffing and workload management, monitor financial performance, and implement firm-wide strategic initiatives at the practice

Qualifications

• BA/BS required; JD preferred.
• Five or more years' experience in an operational, supervisory and/or management position in a professional office setting.
• Demonstrated experience in driving process and continuous improvements.
• Exceptional organizational skills with keen time management to meet deadlines and priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-level communication skills; ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Previous experience in law firm management required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with Practice Group Leaders and senior administration.
• Proactively manage day-to-day operations and implement actions to address group needs.
• Supervise and monitor the practice group business plan and growth initiatives.
• Liaise with Finance to generate financial reports and summarize key metrics.
• Manage financial performance to support revenue growth and profitability.
• Gather and analyze economic data; monitor workload and advise attorneys accordingly.
