Indiana University Health is seeking a Practice Administrator for Urgent Care to lead multiple clinics and drive operational excellence across an assigned territory. You will oversee day-to-day operations, advance strategic priorities, and ensure seven-day urgent care coverage with occasional early-morning, evening, weekend, or holiday needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in ambulatory or outpatient settings, including 3-5 years managing physician practice operations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, care delivery models, financial management, regulatory requirements, and healthcare legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, performance, and strategic priorities across multiple urgent care locations.
  • Build strong clinic leadership and advance organizational initiatives to improve care and patient experience.
  • Maintain a visible onsite presence and lead through change across sites.
  • Coordinate travel between Downtown, Broad Ripple, Noblesville, and Muncie clinics and ensure 7-day operation coverage.

The Practice Administrator serves as the operational leader for a portfolio of urgent care clinics. This newly created role is ideal for an experienced healthcare leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about developing teams, driving operational excellence, and enhancing both the team member and patient experience.


This leader will oversee the day-to-day operations, performance, and strategic priorities across multiple urgent care locations within an assigned territory. With significant autonomy and ownership, the Practice Administrator will be responsible for building strong clinic leadership, advancing key organizational initiatives, and ensuring high-quality care, service excellence, employee engagement, and operational performance. Success in this role requires a visible presence in the clinics, strong business and operational acumen, and the ability to lead effectively through change. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new leadership structure, create lasting impact across multiple clinics, and play a key role in improving outcomes for patients, providers, and team members alike.


This role requires a strong onsite presence to support operations across the Indianapolis area. The Practice Administrator will regularly travel among the Downtown, Broad Ripple, Noblesville, and Muncie clinic locations, with onsite rounding expected at least weekly across the assigned sites. The successful candidate must be visible and accessible to clinic leaders, providers, and team members. Schedule flexibility is also important to support a seven-day urgent care operation, including occasional early‑morning, evening, weekend, or holiday needs.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.

  • Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

  • 7-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting, including 3-5 years managing physician practice operations.

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, care delivery models, financial management, regulatory requirements, and healthcare legislation.

  • Experience utilizing benchmarking data and industry best practices to drive operational improvement.

  • Proficient with healthcare technology systems and business applications.

  • Ability to occasionally lift, move, or carry objects up to 50 pounds as needed.
