Job summary

U.S. Dermatology Partners seeks a seasoned Practice Administrator to oversee daily operations across multiple dermatology locations. You will manage staff, budgets, and policies to ensure exceptional patient care.

This role requires strong leadership, healthcare knowledge, and hands-on financial oversight. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in practice administration, dermatology experience preferred, and proven ability to optimize operations, compliance, and staff development in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Five (5)+ years experience as a Practice Administrator in healthcare.
  • Dermatology practice experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and CPT/ICD-10 coding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple locations and staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Oversee billing, collections, and financial management.
  • Develop and enforce clinic policies and procedures.
  • Recruitment, training and performance management of employees.
  • Coordinate with providers and regional leaders to support patient care quality.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety standards.

SECTION 1: Job Summary (Summary of the basic functions of the position)Practice Administrators are more senior level office managers who typically manage multiple locationsand/or 30+ employees at one practice location. They work closely with the providers of a medicalpractice or clinic, along with their Regional Practice Manager, to ensure effective, quality patient care isprovided. They are directly responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of the practice(s) they areassigned. These medical professionals are in charge of making sure the practice space is runningsmoothly and successfully.SECTION 2: Duties and Responsibilities (Responsibilities necessary to accomplish job functions)Provides leadership in implementing the organization’s business plans for the practice / clinic.Recommends, develops, implements improvements for the practice.Informs Regional Practice Managers about current trends, problems and medical activities to facilitate policy making.Establishes, secures approval and overseas clinic operating policies and procedures.Assists providers to ensure all resources are available for quality patient care.Oversees efforts for recruitment, development, performance evaluation of employees.Oversees the business and financial affairs of the clinic and fiscal management in conjunction with Operations and Accounting functional leadership from the Corporate Support Office.Oversees and manages the billing and collection process within the practice / clinic.Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of care.Ensures clinic compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies.Continually monitors operations, programs, physical properties; initiates appropriate changes under the direction the Regional Practice Manager.Encourages community education by initiation participation in health fairs and events to promote awareness. Responsible for managing the overall marketing activities of the practice.Represents the clinic in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies, and third party payers.Assists in managing practice managed care relationships, including monitoring of related reimbursement, negotiation with third party payers, provider credentialing, and maintenance of contracts.Serves as liaison and channel of communication between the practice / clinic, health plans, insurance companies and regulatory bodies.Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful clinic atmosphere.Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments.Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organizationSECTION 3: Experience RequirementsFive (5)+ years experience as an Practice Administrator in a healthcare setting, requiredThree (3)+ years experience in a dermatology practice, preferredSECTION 4: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequirementsThorough knowledge of medical terminology, required.Ability to travel between multiple practice locations as assigned.Basic knowledge of medical billing coding, including CPT and ICD-10 coding, requiredDetail oriented, professional attitude, reliableManagement and organizational skills to support the leadership of this functionAbility to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretationsInterpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needsAble to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingMathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solvingBasic to intermediate computer operationProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookSpecialty knowledge of systems relating to job functionKnowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelinesSECTION 5: Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises employees in the practice space.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.Benefits:Medical, Dental, & Vision401kPTO & Paid HolidaysCompany Paid Life InsuranceEmployee Perks Program
