Job summary

Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a physician extender (RN) to act as a liaison among physicians, patients, hospital and office. You will assess patients, document per protocol and ensure high-quality nursing care aligned with physician orders and policies.

Collaboration with management and care teams is essential to deliver excellent service and outcomes for our patients in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Must hold a current Indiana RN license; CPR required; ACLS preferred.
• 2 years experience in a medical setting required.
• Medical terminology and pharmacology background recommended.
• Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms preferred; EMR skills recommended.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Job description

Summary

The physician extender acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, hospital, and office. Performs assessments of patients and documents according to protocol. Accountable for assuring delivery of quality nursing care for the designated patients of PPG in accordance with the individual patients needs, physicians' orders, PPG and PH policies, and standards of practice. Responsible for working collaboratively with management, physician, and coworkers to provide excellent service to our patients.

Education

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licensure/Certification

Must hold a current Indiana Registered Nurse license. CPR certification required. ACLS certification preferred.

Experience

2 years experience in a medical setting required

Other Qualifications

Medical terminology and pharmacology background needed. Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms in preferred. Essential computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records recommended. Good verbal and written communication skills required.
