Job summary
Lucid Motors in Michigan seeks a Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer to drive powertrain supplier readiness from concept through mass production. You will own supplier manufacturing strategy, tool readiness, and risk mitigation across castings, forgings, machining, and drive unit assemblies.
In your first 12 months, success will be reflected in on‑time APQP milestones and PPAP approvals, production‑ready tooling and capacity.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of automotive manufacturing and supplier industrialization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Materials Engineering.
- Deep knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, Run‑at‑Rate, GD&T.
- Hands-on with casting, forging, machining, and assembly processes.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.
Responsibilities
- Industrialization Strategy: Lead Drive Unit and Metals suppliers from sourcing to Start of Production.
- Manufacturing Decisions: Advise on castings, forgings, machining, heat treatment, gears, rotor/stator, motor housings, and automation.
- Design for Manufacturing: Partner with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability and throughput.
- APQP and Launch: Complete APQP deliverables and process signoffs.
- Capacity Readiness: Validate equipment, tooling, cycle times, and bottlenecks.
- Quality Recovery & Executive Alignment: Lead RCA and present status to leadership.
