Job summary

PACCAR Powertrain at the PACCAR Technical Center in Mount Vernon, WA seeks a Powertrain Technical Lead Engineer to guide engine development and testing for NA engines. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive quality improvements, and shape calibration and software strategies to meet program objectives.

You will collaborate with global teams, document technical results, and promote a culture of engineering excellence, with travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in automotive/powertrain, incl. at least 2 years in technical leadership.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines and powertrain systems.
• Experience supporting engine/vehicle development incl. testing, calibration, validation, verification, and production release.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams resolving complex engine design issues.
• Drive initiatives to improve product quality and engineering efficiency.
• Offer technical guidance for product changes, tests, data analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with global teams to evaluate and implement new technologies.
• Support software development, verification, release, and implementation for engine platforms.
• Lead development plans, product requirements, and software prototyping strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers to promote technical excellence and ownership.
• Support calibration, validation, verification, and release activities for software across engine families.
• Maintain knowledge of PACCAR engine software, and industry technologies and regulatory requirements.
