Job summary

PACCAR seeks a Project Lead Engineer for the Global Powertrain Validation team. You will lead and coordinate validation activities across the product lifecycle for internal combustion engine programs, providing technical leadership and driving DVPs, software releases, failure analysis and issue resolution.

The role interfaces with engineering, validation, suppliers, and program management, requiring strong communication and project management skills and willingness to travel up to 20%

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product development within automotive sector or related experience.
• Understanding of powertrain systems and product development processes.
• Outstanding organizational, planning and tracking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide activities following agreed procedures to ensure timely availability of results aligned with agreed specification.
• Responsible for ensuring department FRACAS entries are completed, and ensuring required activities for resolution are completed.
• Ensure alignment on decision making in the project core team so deliverables align with project plan.
• Define, track, and analyze KPI's (test coverage, pass/fail rates, inflow vs outflow).
• Initiate validation plan development and risk analysis for priority.
• Identify discrepancies between direction given by validation manager and project management.
• Ensure knowledge transfer between specialists and team members to utilize best practices.
• Set Engineering Team meeting agenda for topics of awareness or escalation.
• Up to 20% of travel (domestic and international)
