Job summary

PACCAR’s Powertrain Test Lab Engineer will design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for engine test cells and facility operations. You will support calibration, evaluation, and validation activities, and drive continuous improvement of testing tools and test cell infrastructure.

The role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, independent work capability, and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical) or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years in automation and control systems for engine test lab facilities.
• Proficiency using AVL test cell automation systems and Siemens facility hardware.
• Basic knowledge of diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment system operation and control systems.
• Ability to work with ETL staff, fostering teamwork and employee development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for engine test cells and facility operations.
• Support engineering by supplying, improving, and maintaining testing tools for calibrating, evaluating, and validating hardware and software in test cells.
• Support calibration, evaluation, and validation activities through continuous improvement of testing tools.
• Support facility upgrades and new test cell development initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test quality, automation, safety, and efficiency.
• Research and implement new automation, instrumentation, and testing technologies.
