Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a PT Emission and V2V Lab Engineer to lead emissions, fuel economy, and V2V testing in a powertrain dynamometer cell in the Detroit Metro area. You will own the test cell operations, integrate instrumentation, troubleshoot data issues, and support calibration engineers with data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years in dynamometer test cells, preferably powertrain.
• Experience with automation software and control systems (AVL PUMA, Horiba Stars, Schenck X-One).
• Strong collaboration in a union-represented, multi-shift lab environment.
• Can integrate instrumentation and diagnose data flow in test cells.
• Familiar with CAN networks, CANalyzer, ETAS tools, PLCs.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; basic programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform emissions, fuel economy, and V2V tests in a dynamometer cell.
• Operate test equipment, measurement instrumentation, and data acquisition.
• Integrate devices and instrumentation per calibration engineers’ needs.
• Troubleshoot data loss, test failures, and premature shutdowns.
• Own test cell operations: installation, operation, execution, data handling.
• Oversee data generation, collection, and organization for decisions.
• Interact with facilities, instrumentation, and calibration teams.
• Work with PLC-controlled systems to execute tests.
• Ensure compliance with emissions and fuel economy testing standards.
