Job summary

Lancesoft is seeking a Test Engineer for Auburn Hills, MI, on a 12‑month engagement. The role focuses on emissions, fuel economy, and V2V testing in a dynamometer lab, with hands-on work on instrumentation, data acquisition, and PLC-controlled test cells.

You will integrate devices, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper test execution, data integrity, and compliance with emissions standards while coordinating with calibration and facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience with dynamometer test cells and powertrain testing.
• Familiarity with cell automation software and control systems.
• Ability to integrate devices and instrumentation into a test cell.
• Knowledge of instrumentation signals: analog, digital, and frequency.
• Proficiency with CAN networks and relevant test software.

Responsibilities

• Perform emissions, fuel economy, and V2V tests in a powertrain dynamometer test cell.
• Operate test equipment and measurement instrumentation for accurate results.
• Integrate devices and instrumentation as required by calibration engineers.
• Troubleshoot data loss, premature shutdowns, and test execution issues.
• Own test cell operations from installation to data generation and organization.
• Oversee data generation, collection, and analysis to support decisions.
• Collaborate with facilities, instrumentation, and calibration teams to resolve issues.
• Work with PLC-controlled systems to execute test procedures.
