Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an enthusiastic Emissions Development Test Engineer to join our team in the Detroit Metro area for the next several years, supporting a major domestic vehicle manufacturer. You will evaluate, improve, and integrate aftertreatment systems and calibrations to meet regulatory standards and improve efficiency.

The role involves leading testing activities, project management, and collaboration with global teams within the Emissions and Aftertreatment group of the PCAL organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical/Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 2+ years of systems level engineering skills with hardware, controls or calibration development in ICE/Hybrid applications and emissions systems.
• Experience with emissions test cycles and data acquisition systems (INCA/CAS/AVL Concerto/TCKs/INTECRIO).
• Knowledge of combustion, engine hardware, OBD, and electrified propulsion systems.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day activities of engine/PT dynamometer or vehicle-based testing.
• Plan, test, analyze and solve complex powertrain system problems to meet performance and emissions objectives.
• Develop emissions system solutions for future high-efficiency powertrains.
• Optimize calibration of engine and emissions systems for new hardware.
• Communicate findings to engineering and management teams.
