Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking an Automation Engineer for Powertrain to ensure control systems meet throughput, safety and quality on production lines. You will design, implement and maintain PLC-based controls, MES integrations and robot interactions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Vision systems and HMI is valued. A degree in engineering and hands-on automation in automotive manufacturing are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant automation experience in automotive/manufacturing.
• Proven ability to program PLCs with structured, maintainable code.
• Experience with MES, conveyors, robots and machine vision systems.
• Familiarity with safety standards and risk assessments in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to design fault-tolerant systems and data interfaces for traceability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain control systems for Powertrain production lines.
• Architect, write and debug PLC ladder logic supporting conveyors, robots, MES and vision systems.
• Create data networks and interfaces for product and process traceability.
• Collaborate with layout engineers to optimize line layouts and throughput.
• Train Maintenance and Production teams for deployed equipment.
• Ensure ANSI/RIA15.06 and OSHA compliant safety systems are implemented.
